In a near future Korea, where an "oblivion virus" which causes memory loss has become the centre of a tourist industry aimed at those who wish to forget the past, Anna Kim, a German woman of Korean descent, seeks the virus in order to erase painful memories and, along the way, develops a close bond with her driver and her teenage guide.

Raina Kabaivanska, though hardly passible as a teenager, shines in the title role. Her voice and acting are stunning. Nazzareno Antinori is also a solid Pinkerton with a pleasing voice, and Eleonora Jacovic is a wonderful Suzuki. To top things off the scenery is quite well done, and the staging is effective. I can't imagine any other filmed "Butterfly" being better than this one.

Kirsten Kosinski (Anna Kristina) leaves her provincial town to work in the big city. After getting a job as a secretary, she finds herself occasionally "sellin her charms." Eventually, she becomes a full-time prostitute and feels the need to ensure the protection of a pimp to survive in this environment.
